Two Pieces for String Quartet (2020-21)

Finding myself as a freshman in college in Fall 2020 was pretty weird. Socializing was treated with such a high-risk, and everybody was on edge. My solution to all this anxiety and fear at the time was to start creating music. Chamber music was to be played six-feet apart with masks on. Nonetheless, we made do. I would have never expected my first entry into string quartet writing being for such an unusual ensemble, but playing music with friends was and is much more important than adhering to music composition conventions!
