About Me
Ian Maloney is a uniquely talented multi-instrumentalist, composer, and chamber musician from New Jersey. He received both his Bachelors and Masters degrees at the Juilliard School under the mentorship of Joel Krosnick. Upon his graduation in 2025, he was awarded the Norman Benzaquen Career Advancement Grant. He is a founding member of the Dolphins Quartet, an exciting chamber music quartet known for their collaborative compositions.

He has performed chamber music with leading musicians of the current and future generations, including Sam Rhodes, Toby Appel, Daniel Phillips, and Tara Helen O’Connor.
Passionate about engaging with the community, he runs the Dolphins Quartet Young Composers Program, a free workshop for NYC composers, and he co-designed the curriculum for the Westside Chamber Players’ Young Composers Lab. He is also on the faculty at the Ethical Culture school in NYC.
Current and permanent musical influences include Joel Krosnick, Willie Nelson, Samuel Rhodes, and Errol Garner.
