American Fields (2021)

American Fields is my first (and so far, only) entry into composition for solo cello. The piece reflects my personal sights out the car window from roadtrips across the United States, in an idealistic way. It was little daunting to write, given that everything else written to this point was for my good friends. Writing for myself is entirely different. This piece is, in a way, a diary entry.

This was recorded at Greenwood Music Camp in Cummington, MA. A special thanks to Oriana Hawley and Becca Fischer for facilitating my time in this special place. Another thanks to the audio wizard, Marco Sabatini, for editing out an unfathomable amount of background noise in this live recording.
