String Quartet No. 1

“Joel’s Quartet” (2025)

Written for my mentor and friend, Joel Krosnick. I owe so much to you.

I began writing this piece before he passed away, meaning for it to serve as a gift for him during my graduation recital. He never got to hear it in person, but my hope with this piece was to memorialize the time we spent together, talking, learning, and listening.

Recorded by The Dolphins Quartet on the day the piece was finished, in my graduation recital at Juilliard.
